Find your strength.

So you’re curious about strength training or you’ve already been training for a while. You’re looking to meet other students like you: intelligent, ambitious, hard-working, and interested in staying healthy. Or maybe, that’s the kind of person you want to become. 

We’re here to provide you with the community & resources you need to start lifting. If you already train, we can help you get better. 

For some, lifting can be meditation, for others, picking heavy things up and putting them down is just a great way to de-stress with your friends. Our members know, regardless of how life, work, & school go - 200 pounds is always 200 pounds. 


Any U of T student, staff, alumni or faculty member is welcome to join U of T Ironsports. No lifting experience necessary.

Becoming a paid member of U of T Ironsports entitles you to the following:

  • Early registration for our Spring Classic 3-Lift Competition and any other powerlifting/weightlifting meets we hold
  • Free admission to all of our Open Training Day events
  • Access to all seminar content & club resources including the members-only Facebook group and training partner directory

Membership is renewed annually in September.

Q: Why do you charge a membership fee?

U of T Ironsports is a non-profit student organization. While we do receive monetary support from sponsors, it is not enough to cover all club activities. All paid membership fees contribute to funding our unique club events and activities.

Q: What if I am not a U of T Staff, Student, Faculty or Alumni?

We'd still love to have you at our events! Seminars are free & open for the public to attend. For non-paid Ironsports members, you are also welcome to volunteer or spectate at our Weightlifting and Powerlifting meets held throughout the year. Sign up for the mailing list to stay up to date.
